Type at least two characters. Your NPI is the ten-digit number on your registry record, and it is printed on your listing here.
What happens next
Once you pick your practice, you email us from an address at the practice quoting the NPI. A person checks it against the registry record, and may ring the number on the record to confirm, before sending a one-time link that opens the editor. The registry publishes a practice phone but no email address and no website, so there is nothing we could send an automatic link to. Rather than weaken the check, we do it by hand. It usually takes one working day.
A claimed listing carries a “Kept current by this practice” note and lets you add your office hours, the services you actually offer, your own fee page or membership plan, your website and the number patients should ring to book. Everything the registry records stays exactly as CMS has it, unedited and clearly separated from anything you add. Practice names, NPIs and cities searched on this page come from the CMS NPPES registry, released under FOIA and in the public domain. An NPI is a billing identifier, not a license or a credential, and claiming a listing is not a check of either.
